All are welcome! The Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd is part of the Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky. The parish was established in September 1987 as a mission of Queen of All Saints Church in Beattyville. Sr. Margie Zureick and Sr. Mimi Connor were the first Religious Sisters assigned as Pastoral Ministers. In 1994 the parish was approved to be renamed Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd and became its own entity. Multiple Priests and Religious Sisters followed as Pastoral Leaders. Sr. Susan Marie Pleiss, OFM, was the most recent appointed Parish Life Director until Feb. 15th, 2021 when Kirsten R. Thorstad, a layperson, was appointed as the Parish Life Director. Three priests regularly serve on a rotating basis as Sacramental Ministers  - Fr. Bob Damron, Fr. Bob Dueweke OSA, & Fr. Livinus Uba. The parish is also in a cluster of three parishes served by Parish Life Directors in Eastern Kentucky (Campton, Hazard, and Jackson).
